"AROUND MEMORIES OF LOCAL TEXTILES"
The reason I decided to participate in this residency in the desert was my interest in the kind of fabrics people use in such a special environment. Textile is essential to daily life, and I believe that it also proves "who you are in the land".
なぜこのレジデンスに参加を決めたのか、それはこのアタカマ砂漠が世界でも有数の極端な環境であることが大きい。こうした特殊な場所で暮らす人々がどのような布を使って生活しているのか興味があった。布は生活に欠かせないものであり、また「その土地において自分が何者であるか」を証明するものだと思っている。
