​​"Weave Wave: Material Agencies in Motion"
 

The international exhibition "Weave Wave: Material Agencies in Motion" will present the breadth of approaches to contemporary fiber art in a Central European context and offer works that reflect the dynamics and relationships between materials and meanings within a broader ecological and cultural environment.

The selected works explore fibers, their production, technological processes, and aesthetic properties with regard to environmental, social, and cultural aspects. The project "Weave Wave: Material Agencies in Motion" examines the connection between fiber art and the philosophy of new materialism. We perceive the poetics of materials as active agents in the creative process; in this project, materials are not just passive objects—they are dynamic elements that actively contribute to the creation of meanings through their interweaving and movement, and also influence the viewer's experience.

 

The exhibition is a joint project of the DeepArtSpace civic association, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Department of Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, the FX Gallery, and the Central Slovakian Gallery in Banská Bystrica. Through this international presentation and accompanying educational events, which are being organized in cooperation with gallery educators from the SSG, we want to introduce the concept of dynamic materialization to the public.

国際ファイバーアート展 Weave Wave: Material Agencies in Motion は、中央ヨーロッパの文脈における現代ファイバーアートへの幅広いアプローチを紹介し、より広範な生態学的・文化的環境における素材と意味の力学と関係性を反映した作品を展示する。選抜作品は、繊維、その生産、技術的プロセス、そして環境的、社会的、そして文化的側面における美的特性を探求する。Weave Wave: Material Agencies in Motion プロジェクトは、ファイバーアートと新物質主義の哲学との関連性を探求し、素材の詩学を創造プロセスにおける能動的な主体として捉えている。このプロジェクトにおいて、素材は単なる受動的な物体ではなく、織り交ぜられ、動きながら意味の創造に積極的に貢献し、鑑賞者の体験にも影響を与える動的な要素である。

この展覧会は、市民団体 DeepArtSpace の共同プロジェクトであり、バンスカー・ビストリツァ芸術アカデミー美術学部彫刻科、FXギャラリー、そしてバンスカー・ビストリツァ中央スロバキアギャラリーとの協力のもと実施され、スロバキア芸術評議会の公的資金助成を受けている。この国際的な展覧会と、SSGのギャラリー教育者と共同で企画される教育イベントを通じて、私たちはダイナミック・マテリアライゼーションの概念を紹介したいと考えている。

この展覧会は、ファイバーアートとしては実験的なテーマで且つ、芸術大学の彫刻科が主体で開催という新しい試みの展示である。私は今回、この「受け身ではない素材の繊維、テキスタイル」として素材を能動的にとらえることに共感し、作品 "Eternal Textiles: Patterns are Alive" の1つを展示した。
